A note about incredible families for my incredible family
I went back to Nebraska this past weekend for 48 hours. I flew in at 5:00 on Friday and left at 5:00 on Sunday. In that time, I saw twenty three different family members… my parents, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins… TWENTY THREE! And in almost every case, I saw each of them on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday.
This is my family.
Twenty three different people who cleared their schedules to come eat, drink and laugh together all weekend. To watch football. To talk loudly over one another. To pour too much Tabasco sauce into their beer. To make Christmas treats a month early. To chase each other around the backyard with a football.
I know most people don’t get to experience family like this, and I don’t take it for granted. Thank you all for being a part of my life, for setting an example of love, and for that I-never-want-to-go-home feeling. You guys mean the world to me.
